About Slow Food USA

We are a community of over 200,000 people working to make food good, clean and fair. Seeking to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system, Slow Food USA reconnects Americans with the people, traditions, plants, animals, fertile soils and waters that produce our food. We work to inspire a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat.

Our Local Chapters

We are organized into over 225 volunteer-led local chapters, all over the country. Chapters host events and workshops on everything from canning to butchering. They build gardens in public schools and open farmers markets in low-income communities. And they work together nationally to push for better food and farm policy--from school lunch reform to the Farm Bill. Each chapter is different, but each is committed to making their community more like they believe it should be. And what they do is defined by the people who roll up their sleeves and get involved. That could be you.
